Sex offender abducts boy, then returns him

Canada has been transfixed by the case of 3-year-old Kienan Hebert, who was kidnapped from his bed sometime before 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday, September 7, 2011. He was then returned to his home early Sunday.

A convicted sex offender, Randall Hopley, 46 has been charged. Hopley has done this at least twice before, and committed other crimes as well.

Donna, I posted a sound bite from the CBC yesterday (Canada’s national broadcaster for those of you who don’t know) in which Hopley’s lawyer said, ‘he is very sorry for….the situation he is in.’ Bwahaha, classic. I see that it is quoted in the CTV article. What a spinning load of crap.

I’m so glad that little boy is okay. I can’t even imagine what he and his family must’ve gone through. 🙁

one/joy, he is sorry for the SITUATION he is in? Man, I really HATE spaths. I don’t use that word often, either. I really, truly detest them. The more I learn, the more I start to think they are demonic or something like this.

And with this case, I am appalled that he was out walking the streets and able to do this again.

Canada is transfixed because they, as a nation, are doing that thing we all did when we figured out we’d been conned by the spaths in our lives. They are all sitting there going, “How could we be so STUPID!?!?!? DUH of course he did it again…”

Canada and the US are not the only countries doing this stupid releasing and re-releasing habitual crimiinals, the UK is even worse than the US and Canada…in all of the UK I think there are only two or three dozen criminals who will NOT EVER get parole.

More than half the states in the US have adopted the “three strikes and you are in jail for life” laws, but they are not routinely used and way too many DAs “dampen down” the charges so that the “plea bargain” is the way things are done now rather than an actual trial by jury.

I wish I could say that things will “get better” but I don’t believe that things will get better…it seems the pendulum swings too far one way and then backk too far the other way.

This man’s attempt to abduct that boy and failing being pled down to a B&E is in my mind stupid, but whatever is wrong with this man’s mind, he is a DANGER, has always been a danger, and the justice and/or mental health systems did not take proper action to keep him off the streets.

I’m glad the kid is home, that is a miracle in itself.
