      Learning to trust again after a relationship with someone who broke every commitment, lied to you, betrayed you, discarded you, is one tough road. It took me a long time to stop looking at the world through jaundiced lenses. For a while I viewed just about every interaction as a potential hurtful thing, and it was ruining my ability to be with others. Every word, gesture, request, triggered me. “What did they mean by that?” “What do they really want?” Not a comfortable way to live, for sure. I managed to slowly regain my faith in humanity, but it was a struggle. I recently read the article below from Psychology Today and wish I had found it much earlier! It has some great ideas for regaining your trust…but it also warns about not trusting your instincts. “painting the red flags green”, as they phrase it. Hope it helps those still trying to find their footing in this world after dealing with an ex….
