Yes I was also in denial about my abuse. I always thought abuse meant that your husband hits you or yells at you. And my ex never did that. I did not understand until years later that psychological and financial abuse are also forms of abuse.

Wow, this was a powerful video interview. Thankfully both of these women are educated on sociopathic abuse and actually have the text book terms of her ex manipulation that he did to her. And Drew’s questions were excellent and it was great that she let the abuse victims speak without any interuptions.

This is going back to the topic of Evan Rachel Wood. The thing is that when someone gives allegations about being abused, no matter how plausible it may sound, does not mean that it is the truth. Like when a woman accuses someone of rape and thus can destroy the person being accused even if it is not true either – a smear campaign to the max. So with Evan Rachel Wood, there is a whole other side of the picture that brings into question her story. She has important facts, interviews and perspective about this case and what should be considered before accepting Evan’s story without due consideration. Yes – it is my understanding that part of the illness of the Altiemers disease is that as the brain becomes more corroded or encrusted, the ability to think is diminished. Also as is commonly seen, there is forgetfulness and lack of function. So when reason goes, then the emotions override and unfortunately this often presents as rage. It is my conjecture that the inability to think and process functionally may cause so much frustration and thus may produce rage. So anyone living with or being a caretaker with a person with dementia needs to be self protective and aware of the danger involved. As far as sociopaths go, I seem to recall that Donna said that there could be a genetic link, so perhaps there is a physiological connection for them as well ? Anyway, thanks for the post. That sounds like more than what would occur due to dementia ( though I am not an authority about it ) but it seems like there must have been danger signs or dangerous behavior before he developed the dementia. Hi Sunnygall – I found that article to be extremely interesting. Now that it has been pointed out and we are made aware of emotional incest, it becomes quite obvious. For example,- my ex’s relationship with his mother was kind of like what was described- his father worked a lot and would at the other times escape into the basement to drink. From what I gathered, he never showed interest in his mother or talked to her about things that were pertinent to her. As a child, when his mother had headaches or didn’t feel well, my ex would sit and rub her head. When we were together, they would talk often on the phone and then he started to act like I was smothering him, but it was just projection because I definitely gave him space. In any case, the point is that people are now finally beginning to see that the world of emotions and inter-relatedness is extremely significant and we can’t rely anymore on the physical alone. So now that you brought it to my attention, I read some more about it. From time to time I like to watch True Crime You Tubes by either Kendal Rae or Christina Randal. So I will see if either of them has covered this case. I like the way they present their cases by giving the backgrounds of the people involved and going forward like a story board. They often will do current event cases. I like Christina a lot – she has much understanding and Kendal does too – though some of Christina’s topics of choice can be too gruesome for me to even watch, but many are right on. What does this have to do with this forum? Perhaps you are saying those spreading these conspiracy theories are psychotic? That I would believe. Yes, there are pseudo sciences and bad medicine out there, and history can repeat itself — but really — to believe the whole world is out to get you is a bit delusional. History is full of examples when individuals were ridiculed, persecuted and even executed for stating scientific truths:

Michael Servetus (1511-1553) was a Spanish physician credited with discovering pulmonary circulation. He was arrested, tortured and burned at the stake. His theories are a basic tenant of medicine now.

Galileo (1564-1642) was convicted in 1633 for publishing his evidence that supported the Copernican theory that the Earth revolves around the Sun. He was found “vehemently suspect of heresy” for his heliocentric views and was required to “abjure, curse and detest” his opinions. He was sentenced to house arrest, where he remained for the rest of his life. His findings are the basis of astronomy now.

Henry Oldenburg (1619-1677) founded the Royal Society in London in 1662. In order to publish high quality scientific research he had to correspond with many foreigners across Europe. He was arrested as a spy because of these correspondences and held in the Tower of London for several months while being vilified and discredited by the government. His research lead to spreading new scientific discoveries worldwide and this library still exists.

Jan7 – I appreciate your posts to individuals struggling with domestic abuse and disordered individuals in their lives. You are helpful, kind and compassionate. And I respect your right to believe whatever you wish. This site has helped me recover from the results of an abusive marriage, which I only got out of because he died. He believed as you do and that is probably what triggered me and I apologize if I insulted you. No harm meant. It was emotionally debilitating and soul crushing to live with someone who believed everyone was out to get him, that the very tenants of our government were ruled by evil doers, that no one was safe. If I allowed myself to go down that rabbit hole I would have been no better than him. So I choose to believe that the majority of the world is NOT out to harm me. However, I am not so naive as to believe that everyone has good intentions, and that there are not some very powerful people who would love to manipulate and bend the world to their perspective. I just don’t choose to believe that it is a world-wide conspiracy. I believe each of us is responsible for researching out the truth. I was raised to trust in the scientific method – observe, question, gather data, analyze, test hypothesis and draw conclusions, always watching out for false data, incorrect input and flawed thinking. And I am always aware of what is called cognitive frequency bias. This is when, after noticing something for the first time, there is a tendency to notice it more often, leading one to believe that it has an increased frequency of occurrence. Like when I first read about sociopaths, suddenly I saw them everywhere. I had to remind myself that this was not necessarily true, that not everyone was a sociopath – that there were just as many if not many, many more good people out there.

So, yes, I will read some of your sites, many of which I have already seen, but I will always question, question, question everything and look for the proof.

Jenna was brave enough to admit an assault, and open her arms to others who need support – but naming names is NOT a good idea. Look what happened to Amber, and she never even mentioned Depp’s name in HER article! If Jenna did say who hurt her, and it turned out to be someone popular, you bet she would be villainized and blamed. No good would ever come of it and she would have to live the pain all over again. She has said she has come to peace with what happened. Rape is impossible to prove so long after the fact, and saying who the perp was is only going to open her up for defamation and victim blaming. Sometimes the best you can do is do nothing and find ways to make peace with your soul.
