Hi Everybody, The Jonnie Depp/Amber.Heard trial is way past now, but it has come forward again recently because Net Flick apparently made a movie about the case. I didn’t personally watch it but I heard about objections that some people had due to their opinion of the movie’s lack of objectivity or things like that. But I did watch the entire trial and I thought that much of the news that came out about it at the time was not accurate and was promoting Amber’s side. Then there were those who complained that the personal media like Tic Toc etc was able to have a sway over the outcome in the trial in favor of Jonnie. Even here at LoveFraud there were definitely opposing views because some thought that Amber was the victim of abuse and others thought Jonnie was the one who was abused. At first I was not sure, but from actually watching the trial, I was definitely on Jonnie’s side. My intention is not to cause a new debate about it at all. I simply wanted to let people know that a new documentary has just come out called ” Surviving Amber Heard “. It is definitely pro Jonnie, so if you think Jonnie is the narc abuser perhaps don’t watch it. But otherwise, I found it a great learning tool to see a narcissistic relationship that we are not in personally or reading about the concepts and stories of narcissism, but to see it dramatized with real footage and hearing the people involved express their experience and feelings. If you want to watch it, you can either stream it or download it ( not expensive and you can pay with PayPal if you want ) by looking on the internet for ” Surviving Amber Heard, watch the movie ” or something like that. I thought it was great !

Hi polestar, Thanks for the information on the documentary. From the clips of the trial that I did see it was obvious they had a very toxic relationship with alcohol and all forms of abuse playing a large role. Although Amber lost the trial, she could have won “best actor in a courtroom setting.” I was somewhat surprised at the outcome -typically the woman is not viewed as the narc abuser. Nonetheless, it must have been a challenge for the jury. I’m guessing Amber’s career suffered more than Johnny’s with the outcome and backlash.

Hi FunLM – Thank you for responding. It was most kind of you. What you said regarding your impressions of the case was true. Also, beneath the drug issues, notoriety and fame, there is a very deep underlying component that addresses sociopathic abuse, and that is what touched me so much about the whole trial and situation. I identified with Jonnie because he was abused severely by his mother growing up and so was I. Then he got married to Amber Heard and had to suffer relational abuse all over again. But what was so satisfying to me was that he had a champion ( his lawyers – especially Camille Vasquez ) to stand up for him directly to Amber and what a powerful champion Camille was ! When I was young and also through other difficult relationships, I didn’t have anyone to stand up for me, ( perhaps some validation on a personal level ) but to have Jonnie being stood up for and being able to tell his truth in front of the whole world was something that provided space for all survivors. In most cases of narcissistic abuse, the main win that most of us get is to go No Contact, and that is not to be devalued at all for its significance and saving grace. But something that I wished for in my heart when I was young was that that there would be someone to stand up for me, so in some way with Jonnie, I felt it was happening for me too. So that is what I wanted other survivors to experience at whatever age they have suffered. Love and Light to you.

Hi polestar, It pains me to know how so many of us suffered at the hands of those that we were supposed to trust……those that were supposed to care for us…..those who were supposed to love us. It’s not surprising how we fell into the hands of narcissists who would pretend to have all of these characteristics we’ve been longing and searching for. You wanted someone to validate and champion you, I wanted someone to fill that hole and who would love and take care of me for a change. Our win of No Contact sometimes gets lost when cognitive dissonance is so hard to erase. Our ex’s look like perfect specimens when we remember the love bombing stage. To this day I cannot understand why this phase is so paramount. Perhaps it’s the bait, hook and addiction that leaves us reeling and vulnerable. I can clearly remember my ex-N sympathizing when I talked about my past and telling me how much he admired my strengths. How can they actually be polar opposite of what they pretend to be? Maybe a lifetime of perfecting their “skills” make it seem effortless.
I’m happy that you felt validated during the trial and found some satisfaction being able to relate to someone that stood up for Johnny Depp and his truths. It is a miracle that we were able to get out of the abusive, dysfunctional fog and go on to be pretty amazing human beings in spite of everything. Blessings to you.
