Have any of you thought about restoring men’s health after a relationship with a toxic partner? Are there any modern medical approaches that really help?

Not a medical professional, but speaking from experience – the best way to heal from any toxic relationship is time and self care. First, make sure you are 100% No Contact. Not even the slightest. Toxic woman have a way of drawing vulnerable men back into their webs. The allure, the sexiness, the charm – it can be irresistible. Resist it. Then take some time to really feel the hurt and betrayal — don’t bury it as so many men do. Let the emotions flow. Take up boxing, running, martial arts; scream at the trees; beat up a pillow – whatever it takes to let those raw feelings out. Just don’t take it out on friends and family – you are going to need them eventually. Learn as much as you can about disordered women (this site is a great place for that), and start to really believe that this was NEVER your fault. Give yourself time to process all this – then reach out to friends and family for moral support and human companionship. Don’t get back into dating too soon – you need to go through this process multiple times before you will be trusting enough for that. Give yourself the time. Be kind to yourself. Eat healthier, exercise more, give up bad habits, embrace a hobby – whatever it takes. All this is going to take some effort and time. Time is the key. And not beating yourself up.
Medically – if you are still feeling depression, anxiety, or have disordered eating, low self-esteem or negative thoughts, definitely talk to a doctor. A good therapist can prescribe anti anxiety meds or SSRI’s. Upping your Vitamin B12 and B6 and D3 help with energy. Epson salt baths help relive depression and anxiety. But mostly – time. There are good, kind, compassionate women out there just waiting for you. Believe it.
Wishing you all the best. You deserve it.
