      This is from a blog.

1.. We lack awareness about sociopath behavior.
      2. We are deceived.
      3. we want to protect an organization or institution.
      4. We don’t want to get involved.
      5. We fall for the spin.
      6. We get caught in their web.
      7. We fear retribution.

Many people lack awareness if they haven’t had a personal experience with a spath.

I would add one more to this list. The knowing and willing enablers, oft times psychopaths/narcissists/self-serving opportunists, ones who will aid the psychopath in victimizing a target or deflect blame away from the psychopath.

Mine had a twin brother who cleverly backed my ex’s false claims he was a military veteran and former LA City Fire Department (complete with photos and uniforms). But later I learned said enabling twin was also defrauding people that he was LA County Sheriff. Both were simply repeatedly convicted criminals (mine multiple felonies) with a long streak of abused women behind them.

But I noted some non-family members who aided my ex’s lies too. Both of the others were liars about being in the fire department, one to get women and the other to get work. It seemed like a joint cover. I’ve read before than psychos can sense each other and will often cover for each other just to reduce threat of people spotting/stopping psychos. My own experience leads me to believe this is definitely accurate.

As for those who protect the institution, LA City Fire Department knew about my ex because I was told multiple people reported in to the agency along with his photos in uniform with their personnel, and his using this lie to sell things online that he said he used in fire department and to mislead targets in trusting him on dating sites and jobs. We got told the same thing; it’s not LAFD’s concern.
