In a previous topic, polestar suggested a participant watch the film Holiday. In the film. dumped and depressed English Iris agrees to swap homes with similarly depressed Californian Amanda for a break. Soon enough both bump into local lads perfect for a pick-me-up. It stars Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.

I suggested the film Witness. After witnessing a brutal murder, a young Amish boy and his mother seek police protection from a police officer. Police corruption by a narcotics officer is uncovered. The corrupt offiers are defeated. The young Amish boy, Lukas Haas, is really an adorable child. It also stars Kelly McGillis and Harrison Ford.

Nice to hear about interesting films.

This is the 1985 film “Witness,” starring Harrison Ford, not to be confused with last year’s movie of the same name, originally titled “Geungin,” a Korean production that (obviously) has nothing to do with the Amish. Just as obviously, Linda Castillo didn’t write the story, since she was just a kid at the time, but I dare say she wishes she had.

redwald- Yes, I was talking about the 1985 film Witness. It is a wonderful film in my opinion with the peace loving Amish outsmarting the corrupt officers. Yeah.

I just saw Bang the Drum Slowly. It is about baseball but reminds me of hitting balls playing tennis.

I’ve recently watched The Invisible Guest on Netflix – very clever plot! If you like psychological thrillers, you’ll really enjoy this one!
