Filmmaker Alexander Davidis has directed commercials for international advertising agencies and documentaries about historic race cars. Then he had an experience with a psychopath, and now wants to help tell the world that these predators live among us.
Davidis already started by interviewing some of the world’s leading researchers on psychopathy. To complete the project, he’s listed it on Kickstarter, which is the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects. He wants to raise at least $60,000.
Kickstarter is interesting. Anyone can be a backer, pledging as little as $1 on a credit card. In order for the money to be collected, the project must reach its entire goal by the deadline. If the project doesn’t reach the entire goal in pledges, none of the money is collected. In other words, the backers’ credit cards are only charged if enough money is raised for the project to go forward.
So, check out the trailer that Alexander Davidis has produced for the film. If you believe the project is important, you can become a backer.
Psychopathy—and why you need to know, on KickStarter.com.
Mrs Grimm has her own Lovefraud account now in an attempt to keep her ex-husband off her sorry arse. I shall be posting as her from now on, and hope this is OK with everyone. I am a real person … 😀
Fine by me Mrs Grimm! Welcome to the clan. xx
The funding has been canceled. Just received this email fro Alexander:
“I apologize to every single person who got involved and who went out of his/her way to help this project and invested time and energy to move it along. I wrongfully used your resources and got your hopes up and that was not right.
Over the course of this project I discovered my own pathology which I have to face now and deal with.
As I know now, this field of interest (psychopathy research and help- / self-help groups) are saturated with other pathological types that are in it for all the wrong reasons. I do not want to be one of those. I would have been an ill choice to run this project. I could have created more damage than good, hence I decided to cancel it.
That was not easy for me to do.
But to do what’s right is usually harder, takes more time and costs more money or energy.
If I want to change the world I have to star with myself.
Naturally no pledge will be executed.
We received two donations via our donation link and those will be returned.
All backers will receive individual emails explaining the details further.
Regretfully and Deeply Sorry
Alexander”
You can also read this apology on the kickstarter comments.
Thanks Darwin’smom, for that update.
Alexander said, “this field of interest is saturated with pathological types”. This is true. The drama attracts them and we can be of no use until we have overcome whatever hooks were used to ensnare us. That process is slow and painful. It requires humility, lots and lots of humility.
I think, in the end, the solution will not be a rally to action, but a gradual gray rocking of all drama related behaviors. The addiction to drama has to be the first thing to go.
Skylar, you said a mouth full
The addiction to drama has to be the first thing to go.
Well, that settles that., the documentary is off and maybe Alexander has had some insight into the fact that healing starts us off learning about the psychopath and we end up learning about our own needs and how we need to change ourselves since we can’t change them. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
I feel so sorry for him.
Hi Mrs Grimm–I hope you are safe posting under this name. Above all keep safe.
Kind regards

I guess now, then…..I have no further questions! 🙂
hmmmm…..pity ploy …. scam …..vampirism?
One/joy –
Cynical! (Well, you TOLD me to call you that….LOL!) (BTW – how the heck are you one/joy? Have not seen you during my brief visits back here. Hope all is well in your patch of the world. xx)
Perhaps those of us who are a little more cynical than others of us were right all along.
He could well be a decent person who had plausible reasons to cancel – OR he might be a bit yukky and he might have worked out that his cover (if he had one) was about to be blown.
Who knows? I sure don’t. I am disappointed though, that the project is canned – the potential was there for it to be something terrific. Maybe we need to make our own?????????????
