Pennsylvania State University, home of the storied Nittany Lions football team and its legendary coach, Joe Paterno, was rocked by allegations that one of Paterno’s former assistants, Jerry Sandusky, was charged with sexually assaulting eight young, disadvantaged boys.
The point of the article I posted earlier today, about former Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Fumo, was abuse of power. This sex abuse scandal is a variation of the same theme. Sandusky’s inappropriate behavior went on for years, probably because no one wanted to challenge a football dynasty.
According to the grand jury report:
• In 1998, Sandusky brought an 11-year-old boy into a Penn State locker room shower and behaved inappropriately. The boy’s mother reported it to Penn State University police. After a lengthy investigation, the Centre County District Attorney decided there would be no criminal charges.
• In 2000, a janitor saw Sandusky in the showers with an 11- to 13-year-old boy pinned against the wall, performing oral sex. He was distraught as he told his fellow janitors and his supervisor what he witnessed. But most of the janitors were new employees, and they were afraid that if they reported what had happened, they would lose their jobs.
• In 2002, a Penn State graduate assistant witnessed Sandusky having anal sex with a 10-year-old boy in the locker room showers. The graduate assistant told Joe Paterno. Paterno told his supervisor, Athletic Director Tim Curley. There were a few meetings, but no official investigation. In the end, all that happened was that Sandusky was told he could no longer bring boys to Penn State. Then, when the grand jury investigated, both Curley and the university’s Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Gary Schultz, downplayed the incident.

Paterno says all at Penn State were fooled by Sandusky
Dear LadySweetG,
Thanks for the first hand report about McQueary…interesting…..
Sky, I hear what you are saying about people who are very concerned about the OUTWARD APPEARANCE rather than the inward one.
Went to a community gathering place this evening and saw a woman there who had on “perfect make up” and “perfect hair” and it was so “out of place” that she literally “stuck out like a sore thumb” to the point that like you mentioned in your post above, she looked like she had stepped out of a “glamor magazine page.” (Which at a place most people where dressed in camo and Carharts realllllly stuck out!) Now I don’t have a problem with people “fixing up” so they look “nice,” but dressing like you are going to an Academy Awards ceremony or to the palace to see Queen Elizabeth II is sort of off the charts for narcissism. LOL
Interestingly enough, my P-sperm donor’s mom, who I think was also a psychopath very highly Narcissistic, was always “over dressing” for causal events. One of the things she was sort of laughed about behind her back was being “uppity” and “over dressing” –trying to “be something she wasn’t.” LOL She was always “putting on airs.”
LadySweetG:
Yeah, there’s no way McQueary wasn’t physically able to do something about what he saw…he is huge! He simply did not want to! He was afraid for his own status. They ALL were/are. And money was a big factor here…big.
Well, I have a feeling that McQueary will be “let go” as well, and though he did not maybe violate any LAWS, as the Penn state campus cops ARE “legal cops” not just campus security (as I understand it) so since the guy Paterno notified was the head of that department as well (as I understand it) he technically DID notify law enforcement, but the “campus police” were more in favor of protecting the name of the University and the football team than they were in protecting kids….so Sandusky couldn’t bring more kids on the campus???? Is that a WTF??? moment or what?
But while this horrible situation is news all over the place for today and maybe tomorrow, there will be something newer and bigger and badder come up here in a day or two that will put this off the front pages and something else on the front pages.
The bad guy, Sandusky, isn’t the only pedophile in this country, and the “good old boys” that covered up for him aren’t the only good old boys in the country. This appears, sadly enough, to be SOP—standard operating procedure.
Oxy:
So I should expect to see the Head of Campus Security fired also? I sure hope so! It gets deeper and deeper.
Exactly! By next week, this will be old news as the next big scandal hits the market!
I told a friend today that just imagine how much of this is going on everywhere. We didn’t know about this Penn State tragedy just a few months ago either yet it had been going on for years. What else has been going on for years that we don’t know about and it’s just a matter of time before it (whatever IT is) is exposed??? It’s everywhere!!! Evil is pervasive…a cancer.
Here’s a book to read about pedophiles

This is one of the best books I have read on the subject.
Oxy:
Thanks for this book recommendation. It looks like it could be beneficial to all of us.
Here’s an article that is about the MORAL ASPECT of the Penn State thing and where our collective (we as a nation) look with our empathy (or not) in this kind of thing. the man makes a lot of sense.

Here’s another interesting quote from an article in the UK newspaper the daily mail.
McQueary, 28 years old at the time of the incident, was ‘distraught’ after witnessing the alleged 2002 assault, according to the indictment. Yet it appears he may have continued to participate in fundraising events with Sandusky including one held less than a month later.

While this article points out that McQueary may be protected under the “whistle blower” statutes (which usually don’t ACTUALLY protect whistle blowers but iin this case might do so)
Oxy:
Thanks for this. This tells a lot about what type of person McQueary is. He was so distraught yet participated in fundraising events with Sandusky. I wouldn’t have had anything to do with that guy! I would have gone to the authorities and cut all ties with him! UGGHH.
I just read that Sandusky is married with six adopted children. I wonder if he molested these children??
Another thing…did you ever notice that these men who are gay and molest young boys are always married?? What a perfect way to cover up their “real” self. Masks. Sickening.
