With all the uproar over Arnold Schwarzenegger and his “love child,” our friend Ann over at WomenExplode.com just wrote about her own experience of a cheating husband.
Stargazer… I think you should read a bit on AS’ profile. His career path has been very calculated. His goals from very early on in life and how to achieve them (from weight champion to movie star to governor). He clearly had an immense ego early on in life… but unlike the usual lower type, he’s a high achiever. His early love life and the rest is pretty textbook. And then his family: he never attended the funeral of his father, nor brother, and different reasons have been given over tme for it.
Thank for being the voice of reason and getting us children back to the subject: Arnold is a TURD to the 9th degree.
Thanks again. This time I am outta here.

I just read the wikipedia link about Arnold. There was definitely abuse there in his childhood.

Star,
you asked if Arnold had stabbed his business partners in the back. Maria WAS his business partner because marriage is a contract.

eb, the source of that abuse is Arnold.
My ex mentioned that his father took him away from his mom at to live with him, instead of his mom. He said he had felt no bond toward his mom, and that she had been with plenty of men at that time. She’s living with her American boyfriend for years now. His father had a girlfriend, but never met her either. In any case his parents were divorced.
I saw her once, only for a short time, and spoke on the phone with her 3 times. All I know from personal eperiences was that she was very obliging to me and spoke as if she thought high of me.
He used to also say that his father was very strict on him and treated him like the black sheep. But his father did a lot for him, even though it was evident he thought ill of his youngest son. He knew what his son was, even if he did not know the term for it. And still he hoped to help him to grow up and get a more stable future. His father died believing his son had found that future with me.
His own son is being raised by his mother, and this was how his own father wanted it – to keep the boy as far away as possible from the father.
The Norwegian young ex girlfriend though knew the mother much better, and said she was a very kind woman and also the first who warned the woman against the evilness of her only son. His cousin (unofficial adopted sister) speaks highly of her too, as if it’s her own mother.
So, I’m thinking now that it’s more likely that his father decided that his ex-wife couldn’t handle the boy because of him being troublesome and thought it would be better if he raised him. My ex would have spoken ill of his mother, because she might have been the first to warn me against him. I highly doubt the “neglect” story he told me back then, when he’s the sole source f or the story, when his father entrusted her with the raising of the grandson and other people speak lovingly of her.

I don’t think Maria was wise to all Arnold’s affairs and she may possibly have been kept in the dark about the maid.
I think she knew he was a ‘playboy’ but I don’t think she was wise to everything going on.
I say this as a former ‘spath wife.’ My spath kept a lot hidden from me. I knew about some affairs but not about all of them.
And when my spath deserted me I thought he was leaving me for a local barmaid. Truth was she was a totally different woman in another state who I was not wise to. And finally after several years later I found out the truth and was able to connect the dots. So I have to take Maria’s side in this and say she was kept in the dark.

After reading your post, I have to agree. I say this because it made me look at things through my spath’s wife’s eyes and yes, she knew about at least one affair and maybe more, but she certainly does not know everything he has done. If so, she would be so mentally and physically exhausted; she would be sick. And maybe she is; I don’t know her.

Well, I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be married to a man for so many years and find out he has lied and betrayed you like that. I think it must be earth-shattering. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that man is necessarily a spath. Do we even know whether she’s had extramarital affairs? We have no idea what has gone on in their marriage.
I’m sure Maria will be doing a close self-examination in the upcoming months, just like we all do. She will ask herself how could she ignore the signs, etc.
I sometimes get to wondering if the majority of men cheat and lie about it. It certainly seemed that way when I was a stripper all those years ago. I sometimes wish I’d never had to see that side of the male nature.

Star,
I do know exactly what it’s like. I was with mine for 25 years and gave up everything to help lift him up, only to find out that there was no gratitude, only a sense of entitlement and disdain for me for having been so “weak” in his eyes.
He chose a woman who could have done or been anything because that’s the kind of sacrificial offering that these beasts need: a woman who is willing to give up the most valuable thing she has, her dreams, in order to make his dreams come true.
Am I talking about my spath? or Maria’s? Same difference.
