Thanks, Kimmie,
Yea, a trip down LOVEFRAUD MEMORY LANE—the date I had the summer of 2009—guy turned out to be too risk-taking for me, wanted to go for a flight in MY UNINSURED airplane (when I said “It’s not legal” he said “Oh, I won’t wreck it! You’ve got nothing to worry about!) LOL
BUT whose ARSE was on the line if I KNOWINGLY allowed him to take up MY plane off MY runway on an UNINSURED, ILLEGAL FLIGHT!???? In an aircraft that had not been professionally inspected in 4 years? Sort of like my DIL buying the gun and illegally KNOWING the Trojan Horse was a psychopath and then cooking up a cover story (very thin) and giving him the gun.
So I told him NOOOOOOOO deal and haven’t heard from him since then. He violated the “NO DISHONESTY” RULE and the TAKES TOO MANY RISKS WITH HIGH CONSEQUENCES JUST FOR THE THRILLS Rule and several others on my DEAL BREAKER LIST so he was no loss.
Also a couple of posts from A New Lily (RIP my friend!) as she started to try to finally make sense out of her life of abuse. Even after 7 years of being away from the abuse she was still raw.
Lots of great memories as well and great laughs!
Yeah. It made me sad to think of newlilly. It made me miss Henry. I remembered Tilly! But most of all I laughed. I remember your date with that guy, Ox. I think they do thrill seek….your better off with-out him.
Gem, I just saw your paintings. Beautifull portraits!
I have painted a few in water-colors, but it’s been years ago. I painted one of my younger daughter, and it’s pretty good.
Maybe I start painting again, but I’ll probably have to start over at square one, since it’s been so long ago.
Still haven’t learned to send an E-mail, but I had no problem access your paintings. Thanks, Gem.
Dear Kimmie,
Yea, but you know, today is special and not just cause it is my BD but because I’m HAPPY! No big parties, (am going out to dinner with friends then the history lecture thing) NOTHING “EXCITING’ that would have rung my chimes when I was 18 or 25 even, but at 64 it is something nice to look forward to, just SIMPLE…and that is more than “good enough”—it doesn’t take a lot to entertain me, to be something to enjoy. I don’t have to have a stretch limo drive up to haul me away to feel important and good…no red carpet and no photographers there snapping pictures for the morning paper to make me feel great about myself. No description in Sunday’s paper about what the Ox Drover wore to the premier so that everyone else will run out and buy one…just having dinner with my son and some friends in a grill at a small University outreach and hearing a lecture about a man killed in 1889 by a psychopathic family of crooked local politicians that lived next door to my family (the local doctor) My grandfather grew up playing with the kids of the guy who set up the murder, I ended up working for the grandson of the guy years and years later half a state away. That political family is still full of psychopathic politicians. Small world.
Well, it sounds like a lovely plan!
I am reading recipes on-line, deciding what I will cook this weekend to keep myself busy and fed.
There’s something about home made soup, that makes you feel warm and cozy, and makes a house feel more like a home.
I think I’m going to try (I know this will be misspelled, sorry.)Muhlagettani. I think it’s indian, or middle eastern but it sounds yummy. Its made in a base of chicken broth, with your typical soup veggies: onion, celery, carrots, but also has granny smith apples and butternut squash, coconut milk, and is spiced up with ginger, garlic, cilantro, and red curry paste. Sounds really good, to me. The only think is I hate to de-bone chicken…intensly! But this soup sounds so good, I think I’ll suck it up and do it.
Yes, my hobbies and interests have certainly changed, as well.
A warm room and a good book, and my kitty is probably all I need. Oh, and a steaming hot bowl of home made soup.
Dear Kim,
Reading your recipe for that soup, I SWEAR made me have a 1-second-long Sensation of a “smell” of that soup cooking! It was like a cyber whiff of the smell of the food! WOW!!!!!! How cool! Like I’m hallucinating now!!!! Aint’ that the coolest thing????!!!! Great imagination hell, I’m going to go for the full monte HALLUCINATIONS!!!!
Wow, Oxy…I hope you enjoyed it.
kim – did you view gem’s paintings on fb? i still can’t access them – no photos tab shows up at all (usually the tabs are: info, wall, photos, notes).
Yeah, One-step. I didn’t have any problem at all! They’re really good. Mostly portraits….makes me curious who they are?
