If you’ve found your way to Lovefraud, most likely it’s because you experienced an abusive or destructive relationship.
Did you also seek professional counseling?
If so, Lovefraud wants to know about your experience. We are collecting data for a scientific research paper about the experiences of people who seek therapy in the context of an abusive relationship.
Your relationship could have been with anybody:
- Partner
- Parent
- Sibling
- Boss
- Other
The survey will ask you questions like:
- What aspects of the therapy were helpful or not helpful?
- Did you engage in couples or joint counseling?
- How satisfied were you with the services you received?
It has multiple-choice questions and some questions where you can describe your experience however you like. It should take less than 45 minutes to complete.
The survey is completely anonymous and completely voluntary. Your answers will help us gather information about what may be working in the mental health field, and what may need improvement.

Donna,
Great survey!
I hope this helps with the behavioral health professionals to get on board with helping us, it’s sorely needed!
SITC
Thanks StrongintheCity – we hope to gather data to help the field offer better services to everyone involved with disordered individuals.
I hope all Lovefraud readers who have gone to therapists about their involvements will share their experiences, good and bad.
Thank you for this survey. I admit I find it hard to face that I stayed with a bad therapist for a very long time. I suppose it was in part secondary to powerful sociopaths ganging up, using every imaginable tactic of abuse they could get away with. And sadly they do get away with so much in today’s world. I am lucky to be alive. Now it is time to move forward, make changes and not look back. Thank you so very much for your highly informative site Donna and your honesty!
