Jacqueline is an Intuitive Life Coach, Reiki Master and survivor of narcissistic abuse.  What experience have you had dealing with sociopaths or other disordered personalities—personally, professionally, or both? Professionally, my experience includes working in substance abuse treatment. As a counselor, I worked with addicts and their families of all ages. Brad Robinson: Are you being tracked while in your vehicle?

November 6, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  6 Comments

By Brad Robinson, Private Investigator Increasingly, we are contacted by clients who are convinced that their sociopath is tracking or monitoring them even when they are alone in their vehicle. Sometimes this is merely the imagination of someone who (often with good reason) has become frightened and a bit paranoid. Often we are able to determine that their ex (or a friend or relative he has co-opted or a private investigator he has hired) is physically surveilling our client. Increasingly, however, our investigation reveals that our client has become the victim of technical surveillance, i.e., a device has been secretly installed on/in their vehicle. GPS = Global Positioning System By …

Mary Ann Glynn: Book Review of ‘The Psychopath Inside’

September 25, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  12 Comments

The Psychopath Inside: A Neuroscientist's Personal Journey into the Dark Side of the Brain — by James Fallon Review by Mary Ann Glynn I first came across James Fallon's research on a show about psychopathy and the brain on the Science Channel. I was fascinated by what he found out by mistake about his own brain, which has added an interesting and significant spin to the discussion of nature and nurture in psychopathy. For thirty-five years James Fallon has been a neuroscientist educator and researcher, and has engineered major breakthroughs in stem cell research. His research lab led to the creation of three biotech companies, one of which won a national award from peers. His main areas of s …

Mary Ann Glynn: Deceit – the most destructive abuse

July 29, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  15 Comments

By Mary Ann Glynn, located in Bernardsville, New Jersey I have noticed that those who get involved with a sociopath, whether it's for 30 years or three months, the relationship has the same devastating effect. I've heard some describe even a brief encounter with a sociopath as the most destructive relationship they'd ever been in, even if they had previously been in a physically abusive relationship. What makes this true? Loss of value and power Any abusive relationship is destructive. In order to survive it, a person has to sublimate their needs and their identity, and a loss of self is experienced over time. Self-esteem is battered. Ongoing exposure to physical or verbal degradation from …

Mary Ann Glynn: Mind Warrior app helps you reclaim your lost self and heal from PTSD

July 24, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  1 Comment

By Mary Ann Glynn, located in Bernardsville, New JerseyIn recent years technology has made it possible to study as never before how the brain works and what can effectively change and heal it. Neuroplasticity, the opening of new neural pathways in the brain, is the key factor.  I developed a therapeutic app to help this process, called Mind Warrior â„¢. Survival mode For those caught in a relationship with a sociopath, the brain's response to the ongoing trauma puts us in “survival mode” and we can lose our grip on the ability to cope (choose positive and healthy ways of feeling).  Indeed, we can be stuck in the cycle of abuse and deception, which produces feelings of confusion, u …

Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW: Support group for destructive relationships

May 31, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  32 Comments

By Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW, located in Bernardsville, New Jersey Last summer I got a support group off the ground comprised of clients, all of whom had been in a relationship with a narcissist, sociopath, psychopath or combination thereof. The reason I began the group is because, first of all, there appears to be an epidemic out there of conscience-free people who are destroying the lives of their partners. Just in my practice there were enough clients to start a group. Now there are many others. “Nobody heals alone” The other reason is that I understand and believe in the power of support groups. I heard an interesting quote last year in a workshop: “Nobody heals alone”. This is based on fi …

Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW: Remorse Revisited

April 9, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  60 Comments

By Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW, located in Bernardsville, New Jersey Partners in our support group are often confused by the fact that after a verbal outburst, physical abuse, or once the ruse is up, sociopaths may seem remorseful. They might see the consequence of their actions, may even cry and be emotional, or apologetic. There might be efforts to change by more responsive or caring behaviors. If the relationship gets pushed to the breaking point, they may engage in therapy. Most partners' experience the sociopath in therapy as completely blaming everything on them and/or trying to control the therapy sessions. But, some had a different, more perplexing experience. Their experience was that the …

Are Your Cell Phone Communications Safe?

March 27, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  28 Comments

By Brad Robinson, Private Investigator We are often asked by our clients who are in the midst of a messy divorce, a contentious child custody battle or a serious stalker situation, "Can he/she be intercepting my cellphone communications?" In almost all cases, the short answer is, "Yes." Cell phone “spyware” Today, it's not just those 3-letter spy agencies who may be listening in to our most private exchanges. Surprisingly sophisticated and inexpensive cellphone "spyware" can be found and purchased online by anyone. The better versions enable an unauthorized eavesdropper to remotely capture copies of your call log, address book, text messages, photos and more (bank account PIN, anyone?). I …

Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW: Intensity, Charm, and Sex

March 21, 2014 //  by Lovefraud Professional Resources//  32 Comments

By Mary Ann Glynn, LCSW, located in Bernardsville, New JerseyMost partners described sex with their sociopath as having been more intense than they had ever experienced. It's one of the factors that confused them into thinking they were with the right person. Sociopaths have the ability to be dynamic, charismatic, attractive, sexy, even hypnotic when they are in predatory mode, in either an extroverted or a subtle way. What fuels this charismatic energy, this sexual electricity? I have come to the conclusion that it has to do with their underlying rage. How does rage translate into charm and sexual intensity, you ask? Just under the surface rage Sociopaths build their false selves …
