A few days ago, Bill Zeller, a 27-year-old graduate student at Princeton University, died. The cause: suicide. The reason: He was tormented due to being repeatedly raped as a child.
Zeller left a 4,000-word suicide note that eloquently explained the effect that the devastation had on his life. There is a link to it in this article:

It is usually best I think to not try to “run off” the trolls, just report them to Donna with the report abusive comment button. Donna requested that we NOT ENGAGE THEM but to just report them to her, that keeps the flames down. That is why we don’t generally directly engage them, but just start talking about our gardening efforts.
I think you will find that IGNORING THEM and reporting them to donna is the best way to get them gone.

I don’t really understand your comment about LF becoming bilingual. Although Donna is American, this isn’t an american forum; rather, a forum for people who have been spathed.
we have people here from all over the world – many of whom speak english as a second language, and i’d hate for any of them to feel unwelcome, or censured for speaking another language.

As you know… I’m still a newbie here and still raw and I guess I felt threatened by it! It was so obvious that is was a grey pot. But you are correct about reporting it to Donna. And as far as any of this… why should I feel threatened by a computer screen. That’s all any of this is, a computer screen!!! It’s not “real” physical interaction. Power Off and it’s all gone!!!! The good and the BAD!!! We just had another 17 yrd old beaten to near death this time a few blocks away from me. NOW THAT IS A THREAT!!! Can’t power off that one!!!
