The brains of psychopaths are different. What does that mean for laws, crime, sentencing and treatment?

Read Psychopaths: Born evil or with a diseased brain? on BBC.co.uk.

2b happy-I am so sorry about your kitten and that she is in so much pain. I just got a cat named Remy back in September and he is my child. He is my whole life. He took all my loneliness away. I would die if something happened to him.

I hope that you can find a vet who would take a payment plan to deal with her. Animals are resilient. My friend has a dog who only has 3 legs now-due to having cancer and she gets around very well. I will pray for your little cat. I know that it is really hurting you and your daughters right now.

    Tobehappy,

I’m SO glad and relieved that the vet gave her a good prognosis. I hope she makes a full recovery, even though it will probably take a while. Sounds like she is in good hands with you.

    Elizabeth and Star…

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I actually just brought her xrays to a vet in town. He said that her pelvis is NOT crushed! She has a broken hip! And it will heal itself. The front paw has a bad break..vertical. BUT, tomorrow morn he will anestesize her and reset it the best he can and splint it so that it will set right! He said she is totally fixable!!!!! WINNNING!!!!!

    Lesson learned: Second opinions!!!!!!!

Ten yrs ago we had a kitten with 2 broken legs and they told us to euthanize her. We did. I am SO sorry now! I was overwhelmed with three children under 6! I couldn’t think straight.

Today I am much stronger. I made the right decision this time.

OMG, I am SO relieved! This has been a terrible trauma to our family. But, Darla is a miracle. I contacted the boy who stopped traffic to save her. I am sending him a reward.

As terrible as people could be out there…there ARE decent people with hearts. Another lesson learned through a trauma.

Darla is a miracle and I count my blessings for support from people like you guys on here!!!!

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! xo

    Elizabeth Benneth,

I am so happy to see you! I hoped to see you post, so I could give you a gym resource link you might be find VERY interesting. I know you are trying to work out to make the police program right?

Well, I’ve restarted a training program that is FREE (except for internet connection) and you can do it at HOME, and it takes tops 20 mins. They use equipment, but if you’re creative you can come up with your own (most of the community do anyway). The name of this site and community is “bodyrock.tv”. It are high interval trainings, each day different ones so a) it never becomes a boring routine b) your muscles get confused and it stays a full body challenge.

They post videos with a host doing the workout at advanced level, and at the end they break down each exercise and give modifications for either beginners or people without equipment. Also check out the body rockers section. There you can see several of the community with before and after results just by doing the exercises and ‘trying’ to follow the healthy eating advice and how effective the high interval training is.

I think you might like it very much: http://www.bodyrock.tv/

I’m on my 4th day now.

Great news 2B Happy-that is so awesome!
Darwinsmom-thanks for the link, I’ll check it out.
Right now I am very anxious. I put down the cigarettes this morning and I am totally stress free and I don’t know how to be stressed free. I am so used to being in chronic fight or flight mode that I don’t know how to calm down. I am off work til tomorrow night and I am feeling intense guilt and anxiety over the fact that I’m doing nothing. Why is this happening? I should be thrilled that I can do nothing if I want to, but instead I am a ball of nerves.

    Tobe,

My eyes are tearing up reading the good news! We recently had a rescue story on my reptile site that was just as heartwarming. I know most of you don’t like snakes. These people rescued a boa contrictor that had mouth rot, a horrible abcess in its face, and had not eaten in a long time, due to neglect by previous owners. The abcess turned out to be rotted necrotic tissue under the nostril. It had to be removed, and the humans faithfully cleaned out the hole with betadyne every day for weeks. The poor sweet snake never hissed or bit anyone. It’s as if she knew she was being helped.

They posted pictures and we all thought the snake should be put down. I never thought she’d make it. She was in so much pain she couldn’t even eat. Months later, after much TLC, the snake’s wounds healed up and the snake took its first full-sized meal. They posted pics on the site, and we all cried like babies.

Please update us on her progress. It really makes my day that she is gonna be okay.

    Lizzy,

RUN!!! Exercise works off adrenaline! Also you might get some nicotine gum and sort of phase off the nicotine slowly with a bit of help with the gum. Buy the off brand 4 mg, and you can cut them in half. The 4 mgs are the same price as the 2 mgs and so you get twice as much for the same price. It does help. I phased off for several weeks and that really did help. Nicotine is a DRUG and smoking is more than a habit it is an ADDICTION so using some help may make it easier.

EXERCISE is great for anxiety and stress hormones, so get moving, even if it is just running in place in your living room. If weather is nice, get outside, sun light also raises your good hormone levels too….Don’t eat high calories but do for a day or two eat high carbs which will help calm your jangled nerves as well. Just make sure you don’t increase the calories. LOL

Good luck and I’ll be your quit smoking buddy!

Yup, Oxoy! Exercise takes the stress away. I’m glad I started and able to do those workouts again. After 12-18 mins I lie utterly dead against the floor, but sooooooooooooooo relaxed!
