I wrote an article not long ago about settling on a name for the personality disorder that we spend our time here talking about. I suggested using “sociopath” as a general term for exploitative people. Many of us have taken to shortening this term to “spath.”
Well, a Lovefraud reader “Justdreamin” informs us that “spath” is taken. She saw it on a flower pot, and sent us the photos.
It turns out that “spath” is a shortened version of “spathiphyllum,” which is the botanical name for the peace lilly, a common houseplant.
We might have to come up with a new name. If I were a beautiful peace lily, I wouldn’t want to share a name with the nasty predators.
Dear OneBeliever,
That’s a heck of a story! Good for you! Glad you escaped and didn’t get bitten…but I’m like you I’d prefer the snake to the man, at least with the poison snakes here I know what to do with them.
Makes you think though….about all the other snakes in the grass that are out there.
I turned in my spath…..numerous times…..to numerous agencies……to MAKE certain he was known!
He ended up being caught all on his own!!!!
(I think).
Do I regret it……NOT ONE IODA…..would I continue….you betcha…..the minute I get new info…..I’m on the horn to the authorities! …….STILL!
The business spath……did and will continue to do the same…..report, report, report! I believe he may be incarcerated at this point…….not certain…..but there has been no activity on his FB in weeks…..and since he’s such an arrogant Narcissistic fark…..he can’t stay off. His phones also go right to VM. These are both good indicators for me.
They caught him last month in the posession of a stolen vehicle……his scams MAY just have caught up???? Who knows.
It will be revealed soon enough.
I love it that I thwarted his last con…….HA! It grew into the car situation and well…..who knows how far and what they found!
My motto is…….PAY ME AND I’LL GO AWAY!
If you owe me money…..theyre is always a price with INTEREST to pay…..the interest is MY INTEREST IN THEIR “DOINGS”.
Pay up farker!
One believer;
That lovely green rattlesnake was me…..waiting for the spaths., I was laying in wait, with all my self control and discipline, soaking up the sunshine, staying cozy on the trail of life while I saved up enough powerful poisenous venom to make my next strike on the spaths….I wouldn’t hurt YOU….I was just tryen to say HEY….don’t step on me!
🙂
Lovely day on the trail wasnt’ it?!?
I loved your analogy and connection between meeting the snake today and your spath…….and the REO son which I sang also as a teenager to the ex spath…..YUCK! Funny how things take on a different meaning altogether when we oopen our eyes.
Megabucks……HERE YOU COME!!!!!
You know how you cure the bite of that Mexican Green Rattle Snake?—you sit in a chair, spread your legs really far apart and lean WAYYYYY over and kiss your arse goodbye! They are NASTY snakes. Don’t want nunna that snake! Our little pit viper Copperheads are NOTHIN’ COMPARED!
Here’s another one….
‘Three Cups Of Tea’ A Lie?
Posted Apr 18th, 2011 10:31AM by Amy Reiter
Greg Mortenson’s “Three Cups of Tea” and “Stones Into Schools” are beloved best-sellers, and he’s raised funds to build schools in remote areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, but now questions have arisen over whether all of the stories he tells in his purportedly autobiographical books are true and whether he’s improperly allocated funds he’s taken in via his non-profit organization. “60 Minutes” has found that parts of Mortenson’s stories don’t add up ”“ and are contradicted by others who were with him at the time. “Some of the most touching and harrowing tales in Mortenson’s books appear to be greatly exaggerated or made up out of whole cloth,” Steve Kroft says in his “60 Minutes” report. Writer Jon Krakauer puts it bluntly, “It’s a beautiful story. And it’s a lie.” Mortenson has said the allegations against him are “unjustified.”
I saw that blurb on the news yesterday……WHAT???? A LIE?????
Nooooooooo…….impossible?
Unjustified?
It’s crazy to me that I was actually quite in tune with the messages I was receiving from my spath. And I was quite in tune with my rattlesnake today.
Instincts are extremely powerful.
Onebeliever,
I read your post about your rattlesnake. So freaking scary.
My own hypersensitivity to danger is obvious to me also. One day my spath and I were walking in the woods (where we lived). For some reason, I looked straight up above my head and my eyes immediately zoomed in on 2 strange looking birds which I can’t identify (they were large like eagles), perched and camoflauged in the branches up high. They were so strange looking that I pointed them out to the spath. He couldn’t see them. It took about 30 seconds of me pointing to their exact location for his eyes to focus on them. Yet, something in my brain “saw” them above my head, while I was looking forward. Spath said, “I can’t believe you were able to see them.” He was surprised. He was recalculating his chances of killing me with a surprise attack. I believe my subconscious AND YOURS are on SUPER ALERT because of the spath danger. Everything else just triggers it.
You said you thought about snakes BEFORE you saw it. I feel that your amygdala was aware of it and was warning you. But you didn’t listen. Then you saw it.
The amygdala is the early warning center. The eyes send information to the amydala BEFORE that information goes to the cerebral cortex. So you have an extra split second to jump, even if you haven’t figured out why you’re jumping.
QUOTE SKY: “The amygdala is the early warning center. The eyes send information to the amydala BEFORE that information goes to the cerebral cortex. So you have an extra split second to jump, even if you haven’t figured out why you’re jumping. ”
I think from what I have read that this is true about our early warning system in the brain…that reflex startle I call it….in studying it in animals though, different species (as well as different individuals) react differently to this. I did an article a while back on why I am becoming an A.S. S. (a little play on words) but asses which are startled only run a little ways, then stop and REASSESS the situation, to see which direction they need to run and IF they need to continue to run…but a horse, once startled will many times just continue to run BLINDLY in panic. Running through barbed wire fences, etc. and literally killing itself in the panic. Where the ass will never hurt itself.
If a horse were to get a leg tangled in a rope, it will break its leg trying to get free. The ass will stand there and figure out how to get free if it can, or it will wait around until its human comes to rescue it, but it will not panic and break a leg.
We (and other mammals) also have the FREEZE response, just like a rabbit sensing danger…sometimes freezing is the WRONG thing to do (with the snake it would have been!) so we need to be aware if we (individually) are more prone to the freeze or the startle/jump response so that we can be prepared for how we will react. Sometimes I Freeze, and the other pilot in the plane that killed my husband FROZE in response to stress and didn’t shut off power, thus causing the fire when the plane struck. Neither my husband nor my son D ever freeze in response to emergencies or danger.
I personally on the other hand have had three episodes of freezing in life-threatening emergencies and several times when people deliberately startled me as a joke….I’m not sure if it is genetic or trained, or both, but I have become aware of that about myself. In one case I literally calmly dissociated as I observed an on-coming car crash that I didn’t think there was any way to survive or prevent. I was preg with son C at the time, and I remember sadly thinking “I’m sorry the baby is going to die with me” and then CALMLY turned off the brain (like a TV screen going black when you hit “off”) a long time before impact not “coming to” until the wreck was over and help had arrived.
At the plane crash where I was not in any immediate danger, I kept “functioning,” though I did have tunnel vision (shock) as I was within 3 feet (as reported later) of my son D and looking right at him but could not see him, but I kept functioning medically if not emotionally. I did the necessary medical things for those that could be helped, I directed by-standers to tasks that needed doing as they arrived…and “held it together” (at least superficially) for another 16 hours (which I think actually was more a sign of dysfunctioning than functioning.)
How we multi-task, and how we do or do not “see” things (watch that video of the basket ball players where the person in the gorilla suit walks through the video and over half the people who are counting the passes do NOT see the gorilla guy at all….the mind does NOT “SEE” a lot of things our eyes do….especially when we are focused on something else…I do think that the psychopaths use this tendency for us to actually “not see” to gaslight us more successfully.
I think just becoming AWARE of this possibility is important for us for future safety.
Everybody ready for judgement day tomorrow at 6pm?
