Dear Abby and the narcissist

Last week I happened to read a Dear Abby column in the newspaper. A woman wrote to Abby that she had been married to a man for 15 years who was controlling and manipulative, along with being emotionally, economically and sexually abusive. The letter-writer termed her husband narcissistic and passive-aggressive, but in my view he may be a sociopath.

The woman is filing for divorce. Her dilemma is that her husband projects a “good guy” image, and she fears that if she accuses him of abuse, no one will believe her.

Abby’s advice was to tell a few close girlfriends what really happened. “The truth will spread like wildfire,” Abby wrote.

I wonder if Abby gave good advice for this situation. I’m sure the advice would be helpful under most circumstances. But if this guy is a sociopath, there’s a good chance that he’s already started the smear campaign against his wife—telling people that she’s mentally unbalanced, a terrible mother, and cheating on him.

What do you think?

Read the letter, Truth of abusive marriage will tarnish man’s sterling image. Then tell us if you think Abby’s plan will work.

I’m passen the box of kleenex to my homeys…..
    And making my suggestion.
It’s called ‘white flower oil’. You get it at a health food store.
It comes in a little bottle and you put a few drops in your palm and rub till hot and cup your hands over your nose and take deep sniffs.
Rub it on your temples, back of your neck etc….KEEP IT OUT OF YOUR EYES….they will water and burn, but you’ll figure that out quick!!!
It’s the best stuff on earth for colds, sinus things and headaches….and you can use it as much as you need…..
    It’s MIRACULOUS stuff!!!

It also works well if you put it in a spaths KY he uses to masterbate……(ooops did I just say that?) 🙂 OUCH!!!!
Not that I did that or anything….. 🙂 Just sayen.

Silvermoon, 2nd best thing that works is Alka Seltzer. 2 tablets plop, plop, fizz, fizz in a 1/2 glass of water will break the congestion in your sinus area within minutes of drinking the solution.

1st best thing is to rinse your face with water. The running water splashed on your face opens up your sinus cavities …blow your nose into a wet wash cloth. You can do the same thing with a Netty cup, but it takes time to boil the water and allowing the water to cool down. Then you tip your head backwards pouring the cooled down water from the Netty cup to rinse your sinuses.

    Cat:
“BUT, I DO still smile when someone tells me something about him that gives more validation to what the ex spath really is. It’s the “human” in me. ”

I had that experience again tonight…..when I go into my local grocery store….(which I don’t do often)…I usually run into someone who saw the ‘article’ about the spaths felony’s.
This was a mother who’s son was coached by spath for years….and he’s having big drug issues currently…dropped out of HS etc….
She approached me and brought up spath gently…..with anger at being conned….he was her kids coach….we had quite the chat in the store as she unloaded her anger about feeling like being conned by him and how SHE WITNESSED him treating his own kids so badly and never did anything, never said anything to me….and now the truth comes out!!!
She also ran into him in the courthouse and he gave her a sob story about me filing a TPO and he was gonna get one on me cuz I was crazy……at the time she knew nothing…….but it all became clear to her once she read the article in the paper!!!!….
I just smiled and said…..I can relate to your anger- we were all conned!!!!
THEN….I went into my cluster B tangent…..and gave her a produce section education of sociopathic behaviors….and sparked more interest for her to investigate on her own.

    NICE!!!

    Silver:
If they were convicted, it’s a crime ‘against’ society……the actual conviction shouldn’t be sealed huh?

If he admitted to manslaughter….I’d knotch that up a bit ……on the murder scale….

I say….it might be time to enlarge your ‘team’ and find a warden or someone on the ‘inside’ who can get that info for you, willing to ‘disclose’……(but don’t tell E72 I recommended that) 🙂

Is he writing letters or calling you collect from jail?
Definately….cut that access off!!! Not that I have to tell you that!

    Feel better darlen!!!

    Wini~
I used to get the small bottles and I had them in my car, bedside, office and extras.
I used to give them away to people when they had colds or headaches…..it’s that great!
I didn’t realize I had given everyone I knew a bottle at one time or another…..but once in awhile people will ask me for another one. It lasts forever….years and years…..but people never forget about it and when it runs out they come back and ask…..EB, do you have anymore of that stuff?

When i’m really tired or stressed, I rub it on my scalp and on my feet and temples….and I sleep like a baby.

    You’ll like it Wini…..

ErinBrock, I love using natural remedies for any ills that come my way. I’m going to try that. I’ll get one bottle for a childhood friend of mine that is plagued with sinus problems due to hay fever etc.

    Thanks.

ErinBrock, that’s a good price for an oil. I still use essential oils instead of perfume because they last so long. I mix them together and make unique aromas (SMILE).
