Ever since Lovefraud launched in 2005, my goal has been to educate people about the dangers of sociopaths—preferably before their lives are shredded. One effort in that direction is the Lovefraud high school education program—I’ll be doing my first three classes next month.
Another effort is my next book—tentatively called Red Flags of Love Fraud—Signs that you’re dating a sociopath. It will identify behavior that may indicate a prospective romantic partner is not all that he or she claims to be, and explain how what seems to be expressions of love may, in fact, be strategies of manipulation and control.
We’ve discussed our experiences here on Lovefraud, and through the telling, identified many behaviors that all seem to “come from the same playbook.” However, I’d like to collect that information in a more structured way so that I can use it in the book. Therefore, I invite you to participate in the Lovefraud Romantic Partner Survey.
Most of the questions are multiple choice, but there are a few places where you can write out your observations. It would probably be best to do the survey when you have about 20 minutes of free time.
Thank you for your contributions. To start the survey, click the following link:

EB,
Oh I am quite happy considering the alternative. I travel the world, I research, I have wonderful friends.
But Stargazers life, where she has multiple men to chose from, I’ve never had that. And the one night stand (or two) I did have were bad enough to teach me that I needed someone to care FIRST, so that the bad sex didn’t matter. 🙂
Katy=hope I don’t have to get an attorney cuz I can’t afford one. It may come to that though. They denied me the chance to file a grievance on the first incident by manipulation. I am going to file one on this one and I’m going to try to drag the first incident into it if possible. I believe that this nurse who lied was involved in the first incident as well and that this one was retaliatory because I made the comment about the first one being swept under the rug. My statement was true though-it was swept under the rug. I also think that they made it a dead issue because they didn’t follow correct procedure on the first incident and my police report will reveal that. They were supposed to call me yesterday evening to let me know what was going to happen next as far as me coming back to work and the status of the investigation. No one called. I am supposed to report there on Monday at 10am. If they don’t call me early on that morning, I’m going to work-after I speak with the police chief again to update my inital report with the current incident first. At least I can say that I have two applications out. It’s their MO to mind fuck me on Friday so I can panic all weekend. It’s part of their tactics.
Katy. LOL!!! I have spoken those very words myself lately.
EB, I don’t think the sex back in November had anything to do with his disappearance in January. He was calling me 3 times a week. In fact, he even got up at 7am to take me to a doctor’s appt when my car broke down. Then he offered to take me to a mechanic. He called several times a week to check up on me. He’d mentioned several times in weeks prior that he wanted to take me to lunch for the holidays. So a few days after his last call, I left him a message asking him if he wanted to go to lunch that day. Never heard back. That was about a month and a half ago.
Then I ran into him at the gym (remember we were gym buddies once). After I blew him off to go to the pool, I saw him looking into the pool area as if waiting for me. So bizarre.
I don’t know what the game is, but whatever it is, I’m not interested. Still, he has some sort of hold on me….
Katy, don’t worry, I’m not getting laid either. I know I could go knock on my neighbor’s door any night of the week and get (poorly) laid. But I’m not interested in being his booty call. It’s degrading.
oh p.s. then I drank the water and had diarhrea – had a great time tho…
Hens, LOL There’s some blackmail material right there – the baby powder in the middle of the street….oh there’s no such thing as TMI on this site. ha ha XOXO
I was with a musician who THOUGHT he was a rock star. He was a good looking guy, boyishly handsome,
beautiful blue eyes (he always had to wear a hat because he was
pretty much bald, it didn’t bother me, it bothered him).
ANYWAY, he wasn’t the type to make the first move either,
isn’t that weird??? Maybe the psychic was right!
I chalked it up to his poor performance in the bedroom,
no self confidence, and, em, a few other quickie problems
WHY WAS I WITH HIM SO LONG?????????????
Why do so many people say the are going to do something… and then don’t do it???
