Lovefraud recently received an e-mail from a reader telling us about discussion on another Internet forum called PsychForums. Here’s what he wrote:
Found an interesting set of postings. On PsychForums. “Craving for Antisocial Behavior.” With postings between four psychopaths. Arguing for various positions With general agreement that society has infringed on them. And so deserves the revenge. Sounding like people are viewed similarly to enemy combatants. And deserve what they get.
Alternate view is that people’s revulsion against psychopaths is understandable. That people don’t want bad things to happen to them. So don’t be a fool and don’t get caught or cry unfair. There are plenty of ways to enjoy life without having to risk jail to get it.
Seems to sum up the psychopath side of the story fairly well.
If you want to know how these psychopaths think, read their discussion:
PsychForums: “Craving for Antisocial Behavior”
Wow, what a find. I’ll have to go back and re-read it plus explore the site. The commenters here might be interested in the Psychopath’s Bible by Hyatt, http://www.amazon.com/Psychopaths-Bible-Christopher-S-Hyatt/dp/1561841226/ref=sr_1_2?ie=utf8mb4&s=books&qid=1222909676&sr=1-2 . I take that book very seriously.
I usually think psychopaths are naturally amoral, not naturally criminal. It’s just that if they go criminal they’re extremely good at it. For example, I think both Bundy and Dahmer were unattached infants. His mother didn’t take Bundy home for months (if I remember correctly). Thus they lived with unresolved and unmitigated infantile rage (attachment disorder, yes?). As psychopaths, they were both preternaturally convincing — Dahmer was stopped by the police with body parts in bags in the backseat, but he was as cool as a cucumber; Bundy used crutches to gain sympathy. They were in fact criminally insane (I don’t believe they could stop themselves) but that was on top of their psychopathy in my opinion.

I don’t think Bundy was criminally insane at all. I’ve read two books about him and a couple of excerpts of interviews he gave with some FBI profilers. He was cold and calculating and carefully planned out most of his crimes. He could control hiimself just fine when it came to murder. He simply enjoyed doing it and said so. He said it made him feel like God to possess someone, much as one would possess a porsche or a potted plant, to have control over their life and when they lived or died.
One of the girls he abducted from a college and police could never figure out how he abducted her with no one seeing what went on, he calmly told how he did it shortly before he died. And he also said he realized one of her shoes had been left behind near where he hid his car, so he rode a bicycle back to the scene to get the shoe before police found it. Bundy was intelligent and calculating and knew exactly what he was doing. Nothing insane about him.
Well he definitely wasn’t psychotic and was very calculating. Living in reality wasn’t a problem for him. What I am saying was insane about him was that he had an amount of rage that he could not control, that he could not stop himself from acting on. And on top of that he was also psychopathic. I would say that in general psychopaths often wish to see themselves as superior, godlike beings. That was definitely involved in his crimes.
Yes, Pathwhisperer,
They are very narcissistic and arrogant as well. Many of them have a very unrealistic opinion of their “superiority.” Any psychopath in enraged if they are thwarted from whatever they are after. Some act out their rage more violently than others, and some plan their violence well in advance, others act on impulse, and some are more “passive aggressive” than openly aggressive or violent. I’m sure none of this is “new” information to you, but to me how they ACT on the violent impulses is immaterial in a way, because they ALL have the violent impulses, the anger and the rage. For my money a lot of the way they “control” the outward expressions is more a learned thing.
Look at how charming Bundy could be, and how successful he was in concealing his rage against women IN PUBLIC, and how he conned his victims before he gained control over them.
Dahmer’s twisted desires and his attempts to produce a “zombie” and then eating parts of the bodies is a little more way out (psychotic) than Bundy, but while Dahmer was in prison he pulled a con on a minister (who later wrote a book about his interactions with “saving” Dahmer’s soul. The minister was convinced that Jeff’s “repentence” was sincere, but then after Jeff’s death, there were found in his cell letters he had been writing to women who had written him in prison and was professing ‘UNDYING LOVE” for each of these women (all at the same time) and some of them were so convinced that he was their SOUL MATE that they “lost it” when he was killed, and they too found out that he was “in love”with 14 women.
Several of them contacted the minister and even showed up at the memorial service for Jeff.
The minister, in his book, was very confused about why Jeff did this since his “repentence” was “genuine,” but to me it was OBVIOUS, he had been conning the minister during the time he was in solitary confinement and was allowed to get out of his cell and interact for hours with this man instead of sitting in the cell “bored” to death, AND he got the double satisfaction of pulling another “con” on the minister. Ditto the cons on the women. It just kept him “occupied” and gave him another “laugh” at these gullible people.
It is said that Charlie Manson still gets autograph seekers and “fans” writing to him, but he “farms” the correspondence out to other inmates to answer them so the autograph seekers are conned in the end as well.
One of the well known, but still VERY SUCCESSFUL is the “love lorne” con that convicts do to get money from lonely and guillible people through the mail.
There was a woman in Arkansas who was featured on the news. She was a 60 year old black woman who weighed over 350 pounds. In the mail she would send pictures of young white women—actually cut out of magazines—to men, with letters telling them that she was getting out of prison soon and she would be with them and just needed some money to tide her over.
This woman was taking in over $50,000 per year from various men who were sending her money. At the time this was featured on the news, there wasn’t a law that covered her scams and the prison was trying to figure out how to stop this woman and the MANY OTHER INMATES who were pulling similar scams. Fortunately, this woman was in for life without parole so she won’t be back out on the street, but Ps never quit trying to scam and con, just for the fun of it if nothing else.
Is there any way to follow the threads you’ve posted on? I want to give an update on the legal situation with my ex P (it’s quite interesting), but I want to make sure I post it on the right thread!
stargazer just blog away post where ever – when i post it usually has nothing to do with the main topic on the thread. Finding sanity after the sociopath is a good thread – it pretty much cover’s anything you want to say…………..
Ha! I found some pics of the P holding a 75 lb snake at a reptile show on May 10. Certainly doesn’t look like someone who has no feeling from the waist down! I will send them to the army tomorrow. He will lie and say it was from before he met me. So then I will send the pic of myself holding the same snake. He is soooo busted!
Henry, I wish I had words of comfort for you. I have no answers for this horrible ordeal we have all been through, except that we all seem to be in it together. If it takes 18 months to 2 years, then I suppose we will all become very good friends. Pull up a seat and grab a cup of coffee. It may be a long haul. Seek various forms of help. I have gotten so much out of energy work and other kinds of body work, even massage. The issues are always stored in the tissues. I will be looking for body-centered therapist tomorrow.
Update: Good news (sorry for posting it on 2 different blogs, but the news is just too good!) I thought my friends who met him would not want to get involved. Turns out they are HAPPY to help me out with a sworn statement! I will collect the statements this weekend and fax them to the army. There will then be no doubt that the S is trying to defraud the army out of a fake medical discharge. He helped my one friends tear carpet out of his house. I think a person claiming he has “no feeling from the waist down” would find that very difficult, wouldn’t you?
My friends are also willing to vouch for my character.
TOWANDA!
Dear Stargazer,
TOWANDA TOWANDA TOWANDA!!!!!
Great for the photo of the 75 pound snake and the one of you holding it too at the MAY 10th show. Absolutlely wonderful!!!!!
Glad your friends are backing you too!!!!
His GOOSE IS COOKED!!!! I hope they send the jerk to Levenworth and you know what, they just might.
After I signed off last night I got to thinking about a comment that you wrote yesterday about “I don’t want to be responsiible for ruining anyone, even an s”
WAIT A MINUTE SISTER—-YOU RUINING HIM???? No my dear HE RUINED HIMSELF, all you did is keep him from defrauding the taxpayers (you, me everyone) of thousands of dollars a month for the rest of his life for a phony disability! IT IS YOUR CIVIC DUTY TO STOP HIM IF YOU KNOW INFORMATION OF A CRIME HE IS COMMITTING.
So you go girl, you do your DUTY!!! TOWANDA!!!!!
OxD, thankfully, my friends agree with you about the civic duty. I really didn’t think they would get involved. I feel so lucky to have such good friends. Now it is not just my word against his. When it’s over, I may post the story on the reptile site. I won’t use his name but everyone will know who it is.
TOWANDA X 1,000,000!
