The National Institute of Justice sponsored the National Survey on Teen Relationships and Intimate Violence, which was conducted by a group at the University of Chicago. The survey revealed that nearly 25 million adolescents consider themselves victims of some sort of abuse and 23 million consider themselves perpetrators of abuse.
